NFL Action 03/06/10 Edition

Wow, so there's been a lot of movement in the NFL lately. Some may have been taken by surprise while others may have seen it coming. Regardless, these moves are going to make an impact whether they prove to be worth it or not.

NYG: FS Antrel Rolle. He Became the highest paid Safety ever. Their defense is gonna become real solid.
BAL: WR Anquan Boldin. They could be a big contender with that move.
FA: RB Brian Westbrook, not picked up yet, but I'm most certain that he'll be picked up before the draft. He's injury prone but he's better than quite a few of the options out there in the FA.
MIA: ILB Karlos Dansby. This makes an already good Miami Defense, even better.
DET: WR Nate Burleson. With Nate showing up on the opposite side of Roy Williams, this makes the lions a dangerous team.
FA: QB Jake Delhomme was cut recently. It came to him as a real shock, enough to make him cry like a little boy. He was really upset about this decision, saying "6 of the past 7 years I've played outstanding." Obviously not if your team decided not to keep you on the team. He did mention that there was "no animosity" between him and the team over his departure.
CHI: DE Julius Peppers. I thought this man would have been on the Panthers forever
FA: WR Brandon Marshall is scheduled to visit with the Seahawks today. Maybe he'll be the replacement they were looking for when they decided not to resign Burleson.

That's just a few of the big names that are moving around or have some big news. There are so many more free Agents out there on the market that could make huge impacts to whatever team decides to pick them up. The NFL teams are being shaken up a bit and maybe its a good thing. Maybe some of these teams that have been hopeless or came so close will finally make the playoffs or something.

Till Next Time..........

NFLs Top 5 QBs of '09-'10

With the Superbowl coming up fast, I figured there's still time to get my "Top 5" lists in before no one cares. That's not saying that these players have affected your lives anyway, but I missed the window to throw in my "Top --" lists of 2010.

To say a quarterback is "Top of his Position", it's not just saying who had the most yards or the most TDs. The quarterbacks that reach that top tier in all around play, the ones who lead their team to victory and those that were able to pull their team up from the ground up. With that said, onward bound.

5. Aaron Rodgers, GB. The guy knows how to use the field. In his first game of 09 he lead the team to a comback win with a 50 yd TD pass to beat the Bears. After a 4-4 start he finished off the second half going 7-1 to bring his team into the playoffs while passing for over 4000 yds.

4. Phillip Rivers, SD. As much as I hate his cocky attitude I can't deny the fact that he's a great QB. Winning 11 games in a row heading into the playoffs after a 0-5 start. That's pretty damn impressive.

3. Brett Favre, MIN. He is a legend. This year was no different from any of his other great seasons. He showed the NFL why he will be making the Hall of Fame. He took the Vikings and turned them into a Superbowl caliber team.

2. Drew Brees, NOS. This guy is nearly unstoppable. He has an incredible vision of the field. He really knows how to maneuver the ball. Clearly one of the best play callers in the game.

1. Peyton Manning, IND. No matter what kind of defense the opposition brings out, he will find a way to get through it. Be it blitz, man, or zone coverage, he will beat it. Doing that wins games.

Coming Soon: "Top 5 RBs of 09"

Till next time...
